RedWave's advanced chemical analysis technology solutions are the most precise emergency identification for unknown substances.
FREMONT, CA: RedWave Technology, a business specializing in homeland security, has unveiled "ProtectIR," the newest and most advanced emergency response tool for identifying unknown solid or liquid substances. ProtectIR is capable of identifying over 22,000 solid and liquid chemicals.
Emergency response personnel and individuals must be able to chemically identify hazardous compounds to comprehend the threat and reduce its effects, whether they are released intentionally or unintentionally. ProtectIR recognizes toxic industrial chemicals (TICs), chemical warfare agents (CWAs), explosives, drugs, petroleum products, corrosives, and consumer goods.
"The ProtectIR can identify nearly twice as many chemical threats than comparable FTIR-based products. Results are immediately available on the device and on connected mobile devices using Redwave's cloud-based TeamLeader app. This advanced technology allows for remote viewing and advanced analysis by senior team members outside of the hot zone in near real-time," explains John Seelenbinder, Director of Product Development of RedWave.
ProtectIR's main technology is Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, employing homeland security applications for over 20 years. The vastness of the onboard threat library, paired with the newest, most advanced data analytics and ground-breaking algorithms, allows ProtectIR to identify even the most complicated mixes confidently.
The ProtectIR is the latest addition to RedWave Technology's array of chemical identification instruments, including the ThreatID, which can identify thousands of gas, powder, and liquid threats, and the XplorIR. This rugged, handheld identifier can identify over 5,500 gases and vapors.
"Our emergency response customers never know what threats they will come up against in their communities. This is why we put so much effort into R&D—to give our customers the most advanced technology capable of identifying the widest array of threats," says Jon Frattaroli, CEO of RedWave Technology.
